Alar Staffing Corp. Honored Among the Top 40 Women-Owned Businesses

Ranked 18th Largest Women-Owned Business in Orange County

SANTA ANA, CA, March 13, 2011 -- Alar Staffing Corp., a Santa Ana based light industrial staffing agency, was listed among the top 40 women-owned businesses by the Orange County Business Journal (OCBJ) for a third consecutive year. This year, Alar was ranked at No. 18, moving up from No. 21 in 2010 and No. 22 in 2009.

According to the OCBJ, Alar Staffing Corp.’s revenue rose to $36.5 million in 2010, an increase of 21.7% from 2009.  President Pati Cinkle, who founded the company in 1989, said Alar has gained market share in the downturn because of the staffing agency’s tough screening system.  “They see it causing problems on the back end,” said Cinkle, a 2009 recipient of the Business Journal Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award and 2008 Women in Business Award.  “They want more value for their money.”  She said the industry is “lax on screenings, causing problems once employers bring on workers.”
